POST VI: English Language Challenges

Imagen
Hi Bloggers, About my experience in the English course I can tell you that it has been a little difficult for me, since I don't use it often, forgetting certain things over time, so the course manages to keep me at a basic level of learning. Also with respect to the blog, I find it entertaining in the sense of the subject matter to write about, but also the grammar is difficult for me since I have not been taught it correctly before, however, with other tools I support myself to achieve a better grammar. In this way, the aspects that complicate me the most in English, besides grammar, is the auditory since I can decipher clearly what is spoken in the videos, so for that, I have been watching movies, series and videos in English with subtitles and in grammar I have used platforms that support learning. On the other hand, these last few days I have done the English tests that the professor uploaded to stimulate my learning and learning more vocabulary, in addition to dialoguing a li...

POST V: Changes to my study program

Imagen
Hi Bloggers! Regarding my study plan, first of all,  I love the curriculum and I am currently in my third semester of studies. Which includes 10 semesters including the practice. Where the first four semesters correspond to a common plan between Social Anthropology, Physical Anthropology and Archaeology, so that I have subjects of the three disciplines at the beginning of the career, and I have to choose at the end of the fourth semester the mention that I will choose to graduate, thus having the other six semesters a specialization of the mention that I chose. Although, there is also the possibility of choosing two mentions, only that instead of finishing the career in ten semesters, it would be finished in twelve, having to do a thesis that integrates the two chosen disciplines. Also, regarding the methodologies and subjects that I have to take in these 5 years, as I mentioned at the beginning I have subjects of each of the three mentions, having field trips with the aim ...

POST III: Your dream job

Hi bloggers, When I was in high school, I was not clear about what I wanted to study specifically, but I was clear about my interest in social sciences and humanities, as well as what I wanted and did not want to do in my life, for example, I did not want to work within four walls with a routine life, but I wanted to know new things, people, experiences and places. Thus, considering the above, at the end of my high school I found the career that I am currently studying, -Anthropology- a career that previously I did not know, but when I found out about it I was attracted by it and I decided to study it at the University of Chile, since it offered a common plan with three mentions: Social, Physics and Archaeology, which seemed wonderful...

POST II: The best holidays ever

Imagen
My best vacations that I remember with a lot of nostalgia were in summer, when I was a little girl, about ten to twelve years old. I used to go to an island in Quinchao in Chiloe, called Chaulinec. It is in the countryside and I had a great time with my sister and my cousin, where we played every afternoon, being in contact with nature and animals. My activities there were very farmer-like, I loved it, I rode horses, gave food to the animals like pigs and chickens, collected fruits and potatoes, as well as eggs from the henhouse. Also, another place in Chaulinec that I liked to go to was the beach, even though the sea was very cold, it was a nice feeling. So, I can say that, although I have not traveled very far during my vacation, that does not mean that I have not enjoyed it wherever I go, because what matters most is the atmosphere you find yourself in along with the company.

A country you'd like to visit

Imagen
Right now, I would like to visit many countries but not one in particular. However, if I had to choose one to visit it would be Mexico, mainly because it has a great cultural richness that I would like to know and contemplate, for example, its historical monuments, especially "the archaeological zone of teotihuacan", because I love all the pre-Hispanic culture..., I would also like to try all their typical foods, such as tacos or tamales, which I find totally attractive because of their different ingredients that produce a very colorful dish. And finally, I consider that leaving Mexico without listening to their mariachis and drinking a good tequila, would not be a fun trip. Anyway, those would be my motivations to go to Mexico for now, although I am not closed to visit other attractions, since it is such a culturally rich country that I would not have time to know everything. I hope to meet you someday dear mexico!
